The One With The Wedding
Folks, happy Friday to you all. Huge week this week - the famous Alex and Jule wedding happened just under two weeks ago and boy do we have some gorgeous photos to share with y'all. Enjoy your read :)
August Ins and Outs
I was so focused on my tell-all last episode that I totally forgot to include these:
Ins
- Kodak Ultramax 35mm film
- green beans
- reading before bed
- taking photos of recipes in cookbooks at bookstores with no intention of buying the book
Outs
- screentime
- being oriented, as a concept
- pumpkin bakery items from Dunkin
Going to the Chapel
Folks, this is long awaited. Anyone who I've talked to in the last like probably 8 months, has probably heard me bring up some aspect of the famous Alex and Juliana wedding ((for those friends who are reading this long distance, my partner Nat's twin brother got married to his high school sweetheart and I was lucky enough to be asked to be in the wedding)). It finally happened, just about two weeks ago. It was stunning in every way. I got the explicit ok to share details and photos. Here's the lowdown:
The Before
Leading up to the actual event itself, there was much setup. The famous A+J wedding was hosted at the Talbot's vacation home in Newark, Vermont. Several folks have been going up to the house throughout the whole year doing projects to fix up the property in preparation. In the immediate before, there was some beautification needing to be done, as well as some tent raising and of course feeding the crew who was helping out.

The Rehearsal
The rehearsal dinner was so fun. Having a bunch of folks who have BFAs in technical theatre do anything labeled as a "rehearsal" makes for just such an interesting time. Many a mention of spiking where wedding party members needed to stand, marking through handing-off of bouquets, and blocking the procession. Maybe the most professional wedding entrance rehearsal of all time.

The Big Day
I am not exaggerating when I say that every part of this day was gorgeous. From the vibe of the getting ready room to taking pictures to the ceremony itself and everything after - like truly a picture perfect day. The weather was warm and dry and ever-so-slightly overcast. Nat got everyone in the wedding party together for brunch in the morning and then I split off with Jule to execute bridal hair and makeup. Miss thing asked me very casually back in January to handle a not so casual task and I have spent the last 8 months rotating bobby pin matrixes in my mind. After several bridal hair tutorial youtube videos and several more trips to Sephora, I think we crafted something that came out pretty nice.

The officiant to their nuptials was their pal from high school and friend of the newsletter, bestie Matt Baynes. He did an absolutely incredible job writing and delivering a ceremony speech that got some laughs, hit some emotional notes, and captured the essence of the couple themselves.

Just an all-around beautiful day with beautiful people.
The After
The morning after the wedding was a brunch at the house lovingly titled the "Losers and Suckers Brunch". The name was conceptualized when the father of the groom suggested that people who did not make the cut for the actual wedding guest list should still be able to come up, but only for a brunch the day after the wedding. This was promptly followed by a trip to the lake.

I feel very lucky and grateful to have been so included in Alex and Jule's day. Thanks y'all <3
Bye!
recs!
a song i'm loving:
- DtMF - Bad Bunny
a movie i watched:
- Weapons (2025) - ok. I really enjoyed this. Kinda weird, a little gorey, a bitch named Gladys runs the show.
a book i'm reading:
- I'm like 1/4 way through Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. It rocks. I have seen the movie, but only once and a very long time ago so I'm basically going in blind here except for that I'm picturing Laura Dern as Ellie.
Until Next Time!
P.S.
It's no Kennebunk Hannafords bakery section Oracle, but the Walgreens in Lyndonville, VT had these incredible displays I needed to share with the public.
